Scope
This policy describes the current Android application, which creates, browses, checks, and extracts ZIP archives. Archive processing takes place on your device.
Data access and use
Archive Toolbox uses Android’s system document picker to access files and folders you select. It reads selected file contents, names, sizes, document references, and folder contents, including subfolders when you select a folder. It also reads archive entry paths, sizes, compression information, and checksums.
The app uses this information to create ZIP archives, display and search archive contents, check CRC checksums, extract selected entries, and save or copy files to destinations you choose. Extraction can replace existing files when you select that option.
The app can retain Android document-access permissions so that it can reopen selected documents and use saved destinations later. Access depends on the permissions available from your document provider.
Local storage
The app stores compression preferences and records of recent archives, exported archives, and favorite destinations in private app preferences on your device. These records include document references, names, sizes where available, and whether an item is a folder. They allow the app to display history and reopen documents or destinations.
Opened archives are temporarily copied into the app’s cache for browsing, extraction, and checksum checks. The app attempts to delete these temporary copies when the operation finishes or fails. Interrupted operations may leave temporary data until the cache is cleared.
Selected inputs, archive listings, searches, and operation status are also held in memory while the app is running. Certain failures are written to Android’s local system logs as error messages and exception details. No automatic upload of these logs is implemented.
Collection and transmission
The current implementation does not send your archive contents, document history, or preferences to the developer. It does not implement accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or remote crash reporting. The inspected dependencies include Android and Compose interface components and Kotlin libraries; no advertising or analytics SDK was identified.
The Android app declares internet permission, but the implemented archive functions do not use a developer-operated network service. This policy does not make an encryption-in-transit claim for external services you choose to use.
Sharing and external services
When you select Share, the app passes the selected ZIP archive to the app you choose through Android’s sharing interface and grants access to read that archive. The recipient app may upload, store, or further share it according to its own practices.
Android’s document picker may offer local storage or third-party document providers, including cloud storage. Selecting a provider may cause that provider to retrieve or synchronize files under its own policies. Archive processing remains on your device, but the location you choose for input or output may be managed by an external service.
Android backup is enabled for the app. Depending on your device, system settings, and backup service, app preferences and document records may be included in system-managed backup or restoration. These backups are handled by your device’s backup service rather than an Archive Toolbox server.
Security
The app uses Android’s permission-based document access and private app storage for its preferences and cache. It checks archive paths and applies size, entry-count, and other processing limits to reduce unsafe archive operations. CRC checks help detect damaged archive contents; they do not provide encryption or confidentiality.
The app does not create password-protected or encrypted ZIP archives and does not support opening encrypted ZIPs. Protect sensitive archives through your device security and your chosen storage and sharing services. No storage or security measure can guarantee complete protection.
Retention and deletion
Saved preferences and document records remain on your device until removed through the app, cleared through Android’s app settings, or removed when the app is uninstalled, subject to system backup and restoration behavior. There is no fixed time-based expiration for these records.
You can clear recent history, remove individual recent or export records, and remove favorite destinations in the app. Removing a record does not delete the underlying file and does not itself revoke a previously retained document-access permission.
To clear the app’s local settings and records, use Android’s app-storage controls. You can also clear its cache through Android settings. Manage document access through available Android controls or clear app data. Delete original files, created ZIPs, extracted files, and saved copies using the document provider or file manager where they are stored. Clearing app data or uninstalling the app does not delete files saved outside its private storage.
For deletion assistance, email mateuszbednarski696@gmail.com. The developer has no implemented remote access to delete archives or records stored on your device. Copies shared with other apps, cloud-provider copies, and system backups must be managed with the relevant service.
Children’s privacy
Archive Toolbox’s intended age groups have not been specified. Its current implementation does not request a user’s age or implement accounts or developer-side collection of children’s personal information. Files selected by a user may contain personal information, including information about children, and are processed as described above. For related privacy questions, contact the developer.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the app’s functionality or data practices. Review the policy accompanying the version you use for the applicable information.
